Often connected by intersecting lines and hashes, these creatures float in perpetual congress. Their smooth shapes give the impression of three-dimensional depth, heightened by the soft flatness of her shimmering pastel backgrounds. Careful balance of color and form ensures a harmony throughout the composition. For Reiter, the connections are important – this is the way that humans and emotions interact – as she says, “We enter this world to reach out and connect. We are not bound by space and time”. Her paintings are a celebration of everything that unties us and pulls us apart.
